Enjoy a video we shot a couple weeks ago. I edited this with the new iMovie ‘09.
30 Weeks
We’re at 30 weeks now – 7 months! Baby is about 16 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage).

Almost there! This definitely feels like the home stretch, as we’re in full clumsy, no-night sleeping swing (I am fighting hard against the waddle walk)! Ray is working hard at painting the baby room so we can start putting everything together.
Coming up: Ray and I have our birthing class this weekend and I’m hoping to post pictures from the family shower this past weekend soon. Here’s a sneak peak from Mom (everyone else – please send me your pictures and I’ll post them. I only had the video camera that day).

Optimism

The Obama family, celebrating service
“Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, it’s unlikely you will step up and take responsibility for making it so. If you assume that there’s no hope, you guarantee that there will be no hope. If you assume that there is an instinct for freedom, there are opportunities to change things, there’s a chance you may contribute to making a better world. The choice is yours.”

28 Weeks
28 Weeks – we’re officially in the third trimester. This week was all about long walks, delicious meals with family and friends, precious bits of slumber, and carrying around a baby that’s as heavy as a Chinese cabbage.

We learned this week that baby has a growing sense of self these days is now able to dance to the rhythm of music. Boy does she enjoy putting on evening dancing shows for us – this girl knows how to make a tummy move! Dad, both our Moms and Grandma all had front row seats (and feels) of the show this past weekend during our belated Christmas celebration. This girl likes attention!
Finished the book Natural Childbirth which is the best book I’ve read so far about the art of having babies. Next stop, visit with the midwife tomorrow.
